Copyright Policy

Students upload photos, resumes and messages to CoffeeChat. If you believe something here uses your copyrighted work without permission, tell us and we will take it down.
Report infringing content
Signed-in users can use the report button in any conversation and pick “Copyright or stolen content”.
Anyone else can email a notice to coffeechat.dev.team@gmail.com with the subject “Copyright notice”. Under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, the notice must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name works).
- The copyrighted work you believe was infringed.
- Where the material is in CoffeeChat (the person’s name and school, what the content is, and a screenshot if you can), in enough detail for us to find it.
- Your name, mailing address, phone number and email.
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for them.
What happens next
When we get a complete notice, we promptly remove or disable the material and let the person who posted it know, including a copy of the notice.
Counter-notice
If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or that you had the right to post it, email coffeechat.dev.team@gmail.com with: your signature; what was removed and where it was; a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification; your name, address and phone number; and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if you are outside the United States, any judicial district where we may be found) and will accept service from the person who sent the original notice. We will forward it to them, and restore the material in 10 to 14 business days unless they tell us they have filed a court action.
Repeat infringers
We disable the accounts of people who repeatedly post infringing content.
Please be accurate
Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing, or that it was removed by mistake, can make you liable for damages under 17 U.S.C. §512(f).
